IAP/ESP 2016: Impressions from the participants

“A wonderful opportunity to link the lab to the patients”

Dr. Olanrewaju Ajetunmobi, Federal Medical Centre, Makurdi Benue State (Nigeria), on his impressions of the IAP/ESP Congress in Cologne.

“Patiens are the same globally”, says Dr. Ajetunmobi, pathology resident from Nigeria. But in his country pathology has not the importance it deserves. He appreciates the “mind-blowing” congress experience and the possibility of exchange with professional colleagues from around the world – enabled by the German Division of the IAP.

“It’s quite useful to talk to the experts directly”

Dr. Ana Galaghar, IPO-Porto Research Center, Porto (Portugal), on her impressions of the IAP/ESP Congress in Cologne.

“I love the heterogeneity of the people and the different experiences”, says Dr. Galagher, a pathology resident from Portugal. And she is keen on talking to the experts who write the books she studies every day.

Turkey ranks 4th in participant numbers

Prof. Yersu Kapran, Department of Pathology, Istanbul University (Turkey), on her impressions of the IAP/ESP Congress in Cologne.

Prof. Kapran is one of over 400 speakers at the largest pathology congress worldwide. In her own experience Turkish pathologists like to attend conventions of their speciality. This matches with the objective data from the participants’ list: The number of Turkish attendees is the fourth largest – out of 104 countries.
